Contortion Foundations

Where do you sendy your kid who is bendy? Here!

Students in our Contortion Foundations class will increase their flexibility and gain the strength required to perform contortion tricks. The class will also teach students how to properly engage their bodies while stretching to stay safe and prevent injuries. For very flexible children, formal mobility-focused training is an integral piece of a long and healthy relationship with activities like circus, gymnastics, and dance.

Prerequisites:

- Students must have their splits in at least one direction

   (front splits or middle splits)
-
Students must be able to hold a bridge for 10 seconds

This class is not recommended for students who have difficulty spending extended time upside down.

Contortion Foundations is skillfully instructed by one of our flexibility coaches, Adi. Adi is a graduate of Montreal The National Circus School's ( ENC ) Coaching Program. She has a technical degree in performing arts at the University of Guadalajara. She has had extensive contortion training with Oyuna-Erdene Senge, Cirque du Soleil contortionist since 2004, and flexibility and strength training with Juan Luis Gonzales, a former coach with Cirque du Soleil. She has also practiced the modalities of gymnastics, acrobatics, and yoga, furthering her understanding of the body arts.
